OUR STORY

Hi, I’m Emily, ocean lover and the founder of Peach.

I fell in love with surfing a few years ago. The ocean quickly became my sanctuary — a place of freedom, connection, and community. I spent most of my free time in the water, but quickly realized my skin was getting a ton of sun damage. My sunscreen would wear off and every surf hat I found was plain black or would fall off and distract me from surfing. I couldn't find anything I actually wanted to wear, so I decided to make it myself. Around this time, I realized that it had been a while since I’d pushed myself to feel uncomfortable and take a big risk—so, I decided to quit my job and find the courage to go after something I was passionate about. And so Peach was born, here in Northern California. 

The name Peach comes from a childhood nickname — my mom would tell me I was sweet, like a Peach :) To me, the name embodies the sweetness of being in the sun and the ocean, and signifies the joy and authenticity that the brand is built upon.

In designing the hats, I wanted to create something that didn’t sacrifice style for function. I wanted to bring in more color to break up the monotony of black wetsuits in the lineup, and to encourage people to boldly express themselves in and out of the water.

Through Peach, I want to encourage inclusivity and diversity in the surf community, and support newcomers who, like me, once felt intimidated in the lineup. I hope to create a space that empowers you to live boldly, spread the stoke of surfing, and be unapologetically true to who you are, in the lineup and beyond.
